Katia Mancuso is an award winning Film Director, Writer and Editor from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film and Television) from the Victorian College of the Arts, The University of Melbourne.
She has always had a passion for films and storytelling, particularly for unique concepts and stories that bend the boundaries of reality in some way. She is drawn to exciting genres such as horror, fantasy and sci-fi.
Her graduate film Feast on the Young won numerous awards including Best Victorian Short at Monster Fest 2018 and Best BFAFTV Production at the 2017 VCA Graduate Film Awards. It screened at numerous film festivals globally, including Dances with Films 2018 (Hollywood, USA) and Fantastic Fest 2018 (Texas, USA). The film is now streaming on horror Youtube channel ALTER with over 250,000 views. Her most recent short film Bloodletting won an Audience Award at the Melbourne Women in Film Festival 2020 and is currently also streaming on ALTER.
More recently, she became a finalist in the 2021 SPA x TikTok ‘Got A Minute’ Pitching Competition with her Pilot episode of Beneath the Darkness, winning $5000 in production funding and also going on to receive development funding from VicScreen.
